![]() The companions were about as good as in the first game, the returning ones felt like the natural way to progress after each of their respective companion quests from the original, meanwhile the new companions all brought with them something new, new traits, new perspectives. Some feel unfinished with setting up of decisions and alternatives without ever delivering on them, but most of the side-quests were a joy to go through, with thought provoking decisions and a good bit of lore addition. That's where most of the meat of the game is at. The side-quests were all ranging from pretty good to excellent. The game also looks way nicer, but that's a given. The character classes also felt like they intertwined moreso than in the first game. Here though the difficulty is consistent throughout even without scaling on. ![]() I feel like overall the game was tougher throughout, in PoE1, the beginning was hard and almost frustrating but the mid and endgame were a cakewalk. Gameplay improved quite a lot from the first entry, everything feels smoother, there are a lot more skills that seem to matter and I saw myself pausing and thinking strategically way more than in the first game, where it was more of just click and the enemy will eventually die. After 77 hours though, I can confidently say that I am very disappointed in the experience.įirst of, the positives.
